First gluten free BEC sandwich I’ve had that didn’t take “gluten free.” So refreshing to feel normal eating food without gluten that tastes amazing!

Brought my teen daughter here while on a trip. She has Celiacs and honestly this is the first place we have ever been thats 100% Gluten Free. I tried the bacon cheddar quiche and it was so good, you wouldnt even know it was gf. My daughter had a lemon cupcake and oatmeal sandie and was thrilled! Was definitely worth the drive!

I wanted to try a Gluten-Free lunch after an appointment in nearby Hopkins today. We were able to park on the street right by this cute place, walked right in, we were cheerfully greeted immediately, chose our lunch items from the glass case after asking a few questions, and ate there. The Snuggle Pie was delicious and so close tasting to a wheat crust and a nice texture that I was surprised. Hubby prefers milder spices and found the pork sausages inside it too spicy for him. We shared his chocolate frosted cupcake: perfect. Moist, delicate, not "toooo sweet" for me which I liked. We took home a Mixed Berry Fruit Pie to share after dinner tonight. They offer for sale a local third party's gluten free breads and I took one home to try later also. I very much appreciate courteous, cheerful, helpful staff and everyone there was above average. The café was smaller, clean and bright and even had a couple tables out on their shady patio. I imagine they could get crowded for dining there at busy times. They had a regular stream of customers picking up orders for takeout. If I lived much closer, I would make it a frequent stop on my errands.

I stopped in for the first time recently and it was a lovely experience. I had a snuggle pie (scrumptious--will definitely order again!) and a lemon Spencer cake (which didn't have as much of a lemon flavor as I personally prefer, but had a nice, moist texture). Very welcoming place with great service.

We wanted to get a few pastries for a friend who has Celiac. We stopped in to Hold the Wheat for the first time. Wow! The staff is great! They were so helpful with assisting us in deciding to what to get. We went with a lemon danish, a raspberry danish, a brown sugar pop tart, and a piece of cinnamon coffee cake. Our friend let us know the goodies were delicious. It's a cute little shop with some indoor and outdoor seating.

Labor Day weekend we were in visiting Minneapolis. My partner is Gluten Free and found a post about Hold The Wheat. We went there for Breakfast one morning, and it was worth the visit. It’s a comfortable little store. Parking was a little tricky, but we were able to get a spot on the street in front of the store. If they had been busy, I don’t know that we’d been able to find a place close by to park. The interior was casual and welcoming. We walked in and started perusing the displace case. There were a lot of delicious options. We had to discuss who was going to get what so we could try various items. I ended up getting a Caramelized Onion & Gruyere Quiche, she chose the Bacon & Goat Cheese Quiche. Of course, being out of towners we had a lot of questions. The staff was accommodating and answered everything enthusiastically. Even though I am not Gluten Free, I do tend to be a little watch dog like for my partner, only because she has ordered items in the past that we thought were gluten free only to find out they really weren’t. They were understanding and assured me that everything was Gluten Free. After ordering we went to their small indoor seating area to try our selections. Overall, the food was fantastic. I can’t say anything disparaging about either of the quiches. We had a very intense discussion regarding which one of our quiches was better. Honestly, we ended up trading half way so we could enjoy both. She was pleased with the flavor and the crust of the quiche. For those of us that eat gluten, we know that sometimes gluten free items have a slightly different flavor or texture that, while not bad, just isn’t the same. That really was not what I experienced at Hold the Wheat. The flavor was 100% on point with what one would expect. The texture was a little crumblier than gluten full options, but it didn’t have that grainy texture. It was fantastic. While ordering in their display I saw a Dill Pickle & Pink Lemonade cup cake. According to the staff it

WOW. The most delicious caramel cupcake EVER. I was traveling to Minnesota, and it was my niece’s birthday. She sought out this place knowing that I was gluten-free. I had a caramel cupcake, she had the lemon cupcake. I cannot say enough, how it was truly one of the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten. Even my niece, who loves a regular cupcake, couldn’t stop raving about how incredible this place was. Whether you are gluten-free or not this is a must try place in the area!

Delicious bakery! My first time here. I have an out of town family member who is allergic to gluten visiting so I decided to give it a shot and pick up breakfast here for us—I was not disappointed! We had blueberry lemon pop tarts and the caramelized onion and Gruyère quiche. Online ordering (via Toast) is easy and there’s a pick up shelf to the right of the counter for online orders, so it was seamless and fast. I will be back!

A true haven for anyone gluten free! Walking into Hold the Wheat feels instantly welcoming, from the smell of fresh-baked goodies to the friendly faces behind the counter, you can tell this place is something special The team there treats you like family, and as someone with Celiac disease, that sense of safety and welcome means the world. Every single item is life-changing. I don’t say that lightly — they’ve somehow captured the taste and texture that most of us thought we’d lost when we went gluten-free. Their ham and cheese danish is absolutely to die for — I have no idea how they perfected that flaky, crispy crust that’s been missing from my diet for years! And their Celebration Spencer cakes? My husband, who doesn’t even have to eat gluten-free said they were the best cakes he’s ever had. That says everything! What really sets Hold the Wheat apart, though, is the heart behind the business. On one visit, I watched a manager walk a customer’s order all the way to her car — just one small act of kindness, but it captures what this place is all about. The people here truly care. If you’re gluten-free (or even if you’re not), go. Hold the Wheat will remind you that food can still be joyful, comforting, and absolutely delicious!

Outstanding pastries. Best gluten free fare I have found anywhere. The bacon, egg and cheese biscuit was out of this world! Better than any gluten biscuit! The pastries were so fresh, flaky, and delicious. We loved every bite.
